Senior Bookkeeper
Clayton Services is searching for a Senior Bookkeeper to join a thriving company in West Houston. The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining and operating the accounting system as well as tracking and auditing the financial data.
Job Type : Direct-Hire
Pay Rate : $70,000 - $80,000 / year

Senior Bookkeeper Responsibilities :
- Maintain and operate the company's accounting system.
- Review and prepare source documents by compiling and sorting information for journal entries.
- Handle accounts payable for separate entities and vendors.
- Process transactions and perform accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries, and reconciling accounts on a monthly basis.
- Ensure bills are paid in a timely manner and monitor various financial procedures.
- Process invoices for payments, communicate with customers to collect payments, arrange payment plans, and maintain records of transactions.
- Manage reimbursements through an expense management service.
- Compare purchase orders, prices, terms of payment, and other charges.
- Perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Senior Bookkeeper Skills and Abilities :
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read and summarize financial statements and data.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure databases and spreadsheets are correct.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Proficient with cloud-based accounting software, Netsuite is a plus.
Senior Bookkeeper Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in an accounting-related function.
- Prior experience in financial reporting is a must.
