Client Care Representative (Bank Customer Service Representative)

Position Description :

Customer Service Representatives focus on building quality relationships and protecting the financial security of our bank clients.

As a Customer Service Representative you will receive and respond to client communications across all markets while helping to resolve questions and issues in a way that best fits the clients needs.

This position provides an opportunity to learn about the banking world, while also providing a path for personal and career growth and development.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a call center setting while maintaining confidentiality and diplomacy in order to create a positive customer service experience.

As a family owned community bank, KS StateBank has been the bank of choice for many in the Manhattan community for over 50 years largely because of the quality customer service provided by our employees.

From our Retail team to our Lending teams, we want people who can comfortably interact with clients, no matter how they access our banking products and services in person, on the phone, or even online.

The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday 9 : 30 a.m. to 6 p.m. with Saturday rotation, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Wages start at $16 per hour. Employee benefits include 401k, health, dental and vision insurance and paid time off.

Job Responsibilities :

Client Service :

  • Anticipate and understand client needs, providing comprehensive support
  • Maintain knowledge of departmental tasks and related retail functions
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and co-workers
  • Demonstrate commitment to quality client care

Communication :

  • Complete duties and documentation accurately and timely
  • Exhibit professional communication skills
  • Handle situations gracefully using tact and diplomacy in all interactions
  • Seek clarification and training proactively to advance skills

Problem Solving :

  • Pay attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Validate transaction requests and use logical reasoning
  • Identify efficiencies and proactively solve issues
  • Know when to ask for assistance and suggest alternatives

Accountability :

  • Adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Verify client identity and detect suspicious activity
  • Understand the impact of actions on clients, team members, and the bank's reputation
  • Continuously build and apply technical knowledge
  • Take responsibility for solving problems and follow up to ensure resolution

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

High School Graduate or GED required; Associates or undergraduate degree preferred.

Previous experience working in a customer service environment, especially with emphasis on phone and electronic communication, is preferred.

Previous experience working in a bank or financial institution is helpful, but not required.

One to two years of prior banking experience preferred

Team members must be able to quickly and efficiently use a desktop computer, keyboard, and mouse

Need to be proficient in using several software programs to complete tasks or assist clients, and must be able to quickly and efficiently navigate between multiple tabs, windows, and screens

Ability to multitask, prioritize and make quick informed decisions

Detail oriented

Knowing and using available resources is critical to helping clients this helps to identify many possible solutions

Physical Requirements :

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time

Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone

Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy

Lifts up to 20lbs occasionally
