Job Overview
Under the general or direct supervision of the Physician-In-Charge or designee, the Physician's Assistant (PA) will perform the following duties and be further guided by the specific Delineation of Privileges.
Provide first assistance in various surgical disciplines, including General Surgery, Bariatric, gynecology, uro-gynecology, and emergency general surgery.
Collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure high-quality, efficient care delivery. Evaluate service needs and contribute to the continuous improvement of the MIS / robotic surgery program.
Support the development and implementation of protocols and procedures that enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Work requires knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the clinical aspects of patient care at a level normally acquired through completion of an approved Physician's Assistant Program culminating in a Bachelors degree of Science and three to five years of previous work related experience.
- Licensure required as a Physician's Assistant by the State of New Jersey.
- Work requires the analytical ability to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth experienced-based knowledge.
- Work requires the ability to develop and write instructional / training materials, prepare detailed assessments of patient referrals, conduct individual or group therapy sessions, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
- Work requires direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
- Experience in surgical care preferred
- Proficiency with the da Vinci Surgical System is desirable, but appropriate robotic training is available.
- Strong commitment to patient care and safety.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
