Occupational Therapist

Spire is a State-Approved Special Education school, grades 8 -12, for students with social and / or emotional challenges that impact the student's ability to thrive in a typical academic setting.

Our model of individualized social-emotional wellness plans and our small group academic setting makes us unique. Candidates for the position must have a demonstrated passion for teaching and a collaborative style to work on a team prepared to meet the individualized needs of each student enrolled in our school.

RESPONSIBILITIES WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Facilitate OT services (individual and / or small group) within the context of the classroom environment
• Co-facilitate an ADVANCE class(es) where the primary focus is on executive functioning and organizational skills
• Co-facilitate courses in Transition / Guidance department related to real-world skill practice, ADL’s
• Collaborate regularly with faculty about physical / motor and / or sensory needs of the students
• Develop and implement necessary interventions and strategies to address student OT goals and objectives

QUALIFICATIONS WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• A valid CT Occupational Therapist professional license
• Registered and licensed
• Any type of teaching experience is a plus
• Work with students having diverse special needs is a plus
