About The Position
Job Title : Medical TechnologistJob Specialty : Lab TechnologistJob Duration : 14 weeks, with a possibility of extension and conversion to Full-Time EmploymentShift : 11 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM, Rotating weekends, holiday availability requiredGuaranteed Hours : 40 hours per weekExperience : Minimum 3-5 years of experience required, preferably in hematology.
Six months of experience in a medical laboratory setting is required. Previous experience in hematology and experience with fluid cell counts and differentials are preferred.
License : Not specifiedCertifications : Certification at the technologist level from a nationally recognized agency, such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, ACS, or HEW is preferred.
Must-Have : - Completion of an accredited Bachelor's Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences.
A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if completed coursework aligns with the duties of the position.
Previous hematology experience and tech certification.- Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.
Job Description : - Perform routine and complex analytic procedures on blood and / or other body fluids or specimens.- Utilize manual techniques or laboratory instruments and information systems.
- Participate in training scheduled Monday through Friday starting at 6 : 30 AM or 7 : 00 AM for the first 6-8 weeks, then transition to midnight shifts.
- Work on the automation line.- Ensure adherence to laboratory standards and protocols.- Contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment in the laboratory.
