Senior Litigation Associate / Managing Litigation Attorney

Full-Time (Not Remote)

Salary commensurate with experience but is expected to be $140,000 - $160,000 with annual bonus.

$20,000 Signing Bonus to be paid at end of 30 ($5,000), 60 ($5,000), and 90 ($10,000) days.

We are searching for a senior litigation associate to add to our growing team who will manage and mentor a team of three Litigation Associates, conduct new client closing calls, and maintain new client databases.

About You

• You have an Arizona bar license and more than 5 years of litigation experience in Title 14 (estate planning, probate / trusts, and guardianship / conservatorship).
• You are searching for an opportunity to lead a group of Litigation Associates / Paralegals to work together towards winning, every time, for our clients.

• You have experience putting out fires.
• You have experience getting short notice on litigation deadlines and can reprioritize your task list and / or delegate accordingly.
• You enjoy leading people and meeting with litigation attorneys / paralegals to answer their questions about their cases.
• You can close sales calls (a non-attorney usually conducts the consultation, and you will then explain the representation letter and fee arrangement).
• You are familiar with the Rules of Probate Procedure and Rules of Civil Procedure in order to keep track of due dates to respond to motions / pleadings.

Your duties will include but are not limited to :

• Drafting, reviewing, and responding to motions / pleadings (and the delegation thereof).
• Appearing at initial and contested hearings (and the delegation thereof).
• Conducting discovery / disclosure / depositions (and the delegation thereof) to set our cases up for success.
• Communicating with clients.
• Taking a case and working / delegating it from start to finish.
• Conducting new client closing calls.
• Maintaining the litigation team’s trial deadline calendar (with assistance of litigation paralegal).

Experience & Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in Arizona (required).
• Title 14 litigation experience (desired).
• o You’ve challenged and / or defended an estate plan to trial / evidentiary hearing (whether successfully or not);
• o You’ve alleged and / or defended a client in an adult exploitation case (whether successfully or not);
• o You’ve litigated an ARS 14-3709 case to trial / evidentiary hearing;
• o You’ve removed and / or defended the removal of a personal representative, trustee, and / or guardian / conservator;

o You feel completely comfortable with any type of probate litigation.

• Experience in estate planning (desired).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) (required).
• Tech savvy (desired).
