Role Summary / Purpose
The Brand team’s purpose is to articulate and ensure the Synchrony brand is strategically aligned and integrated across all products, partner platforms, communication channels and touchpoints. As Synchrony transitions to a more consumer‑forward business, we are reimagining how the brand comes to life to communicate its powerful presence, backing more than $180B in financial transactions each year and empowering the financial lives of 1 in 4 American adults.
Essential Responsibilities
- Review, advise, and create on‑brand materials for a variety of projects and touchpoints, supporting ad‑hoc key team requests.
- Draft creative briefs and project charters to align leaders ahead of work‑stream kickoffs and set teams up for success.
- Shape, manage, and execute project plans for updating communication flows, touchpoints, materials, and creative; project management and follow‑up are essential.
- Collaborate across Brand, Consumer Engagement, and other functions to brainstorm ideas, solutions, and approaches to “make the brand sing.”
- Be a proactive student of the brand, sector, communications, and user experiences, mining competitor work, consumer insights, and data to inform decisions.
- Support the VP Brand Strategy & Integration in acquiring intel, benchmarking, brainstorming, consumer testing, and / or piloting programs.
- Assess needs and / or gaps in current work and deliver recommendations to align them with the brand identity.
- Be an ambassador and advocate for the Brand Team to step in, support, and elevate the brand.
- Build a personal brand of reliability, consistency, and service to the brand strategy and stakeholders; influencing the organization through consumer, merchant, and industry insights and strategic brand ideas.
- Perform other duties and / or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred, or a high school diploma and 5 years of work experience.3+ years of experience in a marketing function, creative services, or brand strategy agency preferred.Brand management experience preferred; strong understanding of brand concepts and best practices.Requires creativity and critical thinking skills, along with flexibility to work across teams and influence in a highly matrixed organization.Outstanding verbal / written communication, proofreading, editing, interpersonal, and organizational skills; able to multi‑task and prioritize independently and as part of a team.Microsoft Office skills required.Ability to travel up to 15% per year.Desired Characteristics
Flexible, fast thinker with extraordinary attention to detail; collaborative self‑starter following process, managing projects, dependable, and conscientious.Understanding of brand identity, brand campaigns, ad concepts, and marketing strategies.Specific knowledge of project management, time management, and prioritization is ideal.Demonstrated ability to review and interpret research by finding the story, then making strategic brand recommendations.Experience in marketing communication flows, email flows, and journeys.Strong business acumen and work ethic; contributes to process improvements.Ability to influence in a matrixed environment and have / share a point of view.Excellent leadership and communication skills; comfortable presenting to others.Ability to prep for conversations, build relationships with ease, and work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.High level of adaptability, curiosity, and innovation.Proven track record collaborating with agencies and a wide variety of internal teams.Proven track record of repeatedly delivering work on time, on budget, and meeting all technical requirements while building better relationships with colleagues and agencies.Salary Range
The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements
You must be 18 years or older.You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process.You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non‑exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).Legal Authorization to Work in the U.S.
