Position Purpose : All drivers run daily routes withfrequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucksand unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the orderthey are designated by the Transportation Department Manager.
Candidate will operate successfully in a cross dock model pickingup loaded truck from a nightly delivery at f the assigned loadingdock and returning the empty truck back to the assigned lot at theend of the route.
May be required to assist occasionally withloading trucks, palletizing product, and performing other duties asassigned by Supervisor or Manager.
Primary Responsibilities : Runsroutes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route timesUnload product from trailer, by hand or using hand cart, and placein designated customer storage areas.
May includetransporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weatherconditions. Frequently lift, push, or move product thatweighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds;
frequently reach up to 72 tostack and unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twistwhile loading and unloading product, and retrieving items fromtrailer.
Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain propersignatures. Contact management for authorization whendiscrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors / returns.
Callsin when customer does not receive their entire order (shorts)Handles any customer complaints professionally Handles companyequipment properly, follows written driver safety rules, andperforms pre-trip inspection.
Perform pre-trip and post-tripresponsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation(DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures Education : HighSchool or GED or equivalent Experience : One year route deliveryexperience or applicable background driving a straight truck ValidDriver’s License Must be able to read and understand English.
