Job Summary :
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals in providing quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of individuals in various healthcare settings.
CNAs work closely with registered nurses and other medical staff to deliver compassionate and efficient care to patients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Patient Care :
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Provide mobility assistance and help patients with transfers.
- Communication :
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Report changes in patients' conditions to the supervising nurse.
- Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support to Healthcare Team :
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals in the development and implementation of care plans.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized patient care environment.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Safety and Infection Control :
- Follow established protocols for infection control and safety.
- Adhere to proper lifting and transfer techniques to ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare providers.
- Observation and Reporting :
- Observe and report any changes in patients' physical or emotional conditions.
- Monitor and assist with medication administration as directed by the nursing staff.
- Professional Development :
- Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to maintain and enhance CNA skills.
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and best practices.
Qualifications :
- Certification : Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Connecticut.
- Education : High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion : Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Teamwork : Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
- Physical Stamina : Physical fitness and ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and moving patients.
- Regulatory Compliance : Adherence to state and federal regulations governing healthcare practices.
