The Sociology Department hires non-tenure track, temporary, part-time instructors, from an applicant pool for fall, spring, and / or summer terms to teach courses such as introductory sociology, criminology, ethnicity, theory and research methods.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date. The Department of Sociology will not sponsor a Visa for these positions.
Conditions of Employment Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires) Required Job Qualifications
- A bachelors degree
- A masters degree in Sociology or related field.
- For criminology courses, four years of experience in the field of the criminal justice system may substitute for the masters degree.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- A in Sociology or related field, is preferred.
- Experience teaching courses in Sociology.
- Demonstrated commitment to, and evidence of, excellence in teaching the area of Sociology.
