Apply today!Job Description The Heat Exchanger Advanced Technology (HEAT) unit is developing an advanced steam generator design to substantially reduce component cost and manufacturing span for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program steam generators.

To support this effort, the team is seeking a mechanical designer to support pragmatic development of heat exchanger and steam generator components.

Success in this role requires consideration of thermal hydraulic analysis, thermal hydraulic testing, structural analysis, materials performance, advanced and traditional manufacturing methods, and ship integration.

The successful candidate will adapt to technical results and practical business factors, collaborate with teammates and stakeholders, document technical work and perform peer reviews of technical work for others.

  • Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience;
  • or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience;
  • PhD degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Currently or previously NPE qualified;

or CTE / ACRS and 1 year EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or Watch Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and 1 year as SRE.
