Our client is a dedicated non-profit organization seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team.

Position Overview :
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in overseeing the general ledger, managing the closing processes, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
This position is essential to maintaining the financial health and transparency of our organization.
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant :
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded and reconciled in a timely manner.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review income and expense accounts for accuracy.
- Prepare and review closing schedules, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Qualifications for the Senior Accountant :
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
- Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles and standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Education Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA designation is a plus.
