We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Full-Time Biologics Coordinator at Albany Gastroenterology Consultants of Albany New York

The Biologics Coordinator Responsibilities are :

  • Obtains necessary clinical information from the medical record, provider, and assistance program to process proper authorizations.
  • Completes and submits pre-authorization forms to insurance companies on patients' behalf.
  • Navigates the complexities with the insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations quickly.
  • Follows up on denied drug prior approval requests.
  • Remains informed about specific insurance requirements for each biologic.
  • Maintains accurate records of all biologic transactions.
  • Determines which patients require financial support and facilitates assistance in obtaining financial help.
  • Monitors current authorizations and submits timely for additional authorization as necessary.
  • Provides prompt, efficient, and accurate patient service.
  • Communicates with all new infusion patients on medication approvals, insurance benefits, and out of pocket costs.
  • Works closely with physicians and infusion nurses
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Biologics Coordinator must have the following qualifications and experience :

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in precertification and / or biologics coordination
  • Computer efficiency and attention to detail
  • High integrity, team player with focus on patient service
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
