The Membership Support Associate will provide support to the Community Engagement and Member Experience department to achieve girl and adult membership goals.
This is a part-time position with a varied weekly work schedule of up to 25 hours per week and requires reliable transportation on scheduled workdays.
Availability : Must be available from 10 : 00 a.m. 2 : 00 p.m. and 5 : 00 p.m. - 8 : 00 p.m. these hours include weekend availability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Represent the Girl Scout brand through consistent professional presence and communication methods. Understands the mission and is able to convey what Girl Scouts does for girls.
- Responsible for effective recruitment strategies as assigned.
- Works to support designated members of the Community Engagement and Member Experience department and any other applicable Council staff members as assigned.
- Under the supervision of the Member Experience Director, the Membership Support Associate provides administrative functions, conducts promotional activities at assigned sites and other duties as assigned to support the Councils’ member recruitment season.
- Deliver prepared promotional presentations to school aged children (typically all girls) and / or their caregivers in community settings such as schools, churches, etc.
adhering to Council’s standards regarding content, tone and professionalism.
- Attend and manage assigned Council recruitment booth activities at community partner events.
- Responsible for delivering marketing materials (signs, flyers, etc.) to schools and other community partners.
- Prepare marketing materials for distribution (sorting, copying, binding, etc.)
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); prefer at least six months related experience and / or training.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
- Ability to write emails, reports, and general business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of prospective girl members, their caretakers, school and other location administrators, co-workers and the general public.
- The ability to choose the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), online resource and knowledge sharing tools, etc.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Ability to work from home, as needed, to include high speed home internet access, accessibility to a non-distracting and uninterrupted space with adequate lighting and ergonomically adequate workspace.
