Job Title : RN Float Pool

Job Specialty : Emergency Room

Job Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Zone 2, mids / night shift, start times vary from 1300-1930, 3x12 Hr

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Experience :

• One year experience preferred
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty

License :

State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC

Certifications :

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) / or ENPC Certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification - Required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification - Required

Must-Have :

• Patient care skills
• EPIC knowledge

Job Description :

• Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation, interview, and review of medical records and clinical data.
• Evaluate patient responses and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Develop and implement patient care plans and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrate competency in various therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including but not limited to IVs, incision / wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection.
• Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect the health, safety, and rights of each patient.
• Provide education to patients and families by assessing learning readiness, needs, and abilities.
• Offer teaching and evaluate the effectiveness of educational efforts.
• Recognize the patient or their designee as a full partner in providing compassionate and coordinated care based on respect for preferences, values, and needs.
• Deliver relationship-based care with a respect for cultural differences and the diversity of human experiences.
• Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel according to State Board of Nursing and hospital policy.
• Use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
• Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes.
• Manage resources and patient flow by matching nursing competencies with patient and unit needs.
• Use standards of care, hospital policies / procedures, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice.
• Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making.
• Precept or mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.
• Seek out learning opportunities and participate in continuing education.
• Maintain professional records to provide evidence of competency and lifelong learning.
• Evaluate personal integrity and nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules, and regulations.
• Demonstrate commitment to the organization through active participation in hospital and unit-based meetings.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and research activities.
