2+ YEARS OF NICU EXP FIRM

Level of NICU : 3

of beds : 20

Ratios : 1 : 1-3 depending on acuity and staffing

Required Certifications : NRP, BLS

Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Extremely premature / premature patients, BPD, HIE, feeding intolerance, respiratory support, sepsis / meningitis

Experience or 'Must have' skills : Ability to care for gestations down to 23 weeks, all respiratory equipment, use of feeding pumps

Are RNs required to titrate drips? : Yes

Common titratable & / or set rate drips : BP drugs, TPN / D10, Insulin

Charge Nurse / House Supervisor : Both

Are there nurse aids on this unit / Ratios : No

Neonatologist in house 24 / 7? : Neonatologist no ARNP / PA yes

RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) : HFOV, HFJV, Conventional vent, CPAP, HFNC, NC

Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? : Yes, nurses read strips

Shifts & Scheduling : 3-12s per week 4 week schedules

Weekend Requirement : Can be every weekend

Holiday Requirement : Possible - individualized to contract.

Is there a call or standby requirement? : If not needed, will be put on standby

Floating Requirements : Can float to peds to care for NICU grads, any patient until 12 months of age or be a 1 : 1 sitter for a behavioral health patient

Scrub Color / Dress Code : Royal Blue

Unit / Departments specific orientation : 1-2 shifts of orientation
