Manufacturing Engineer
LHH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a medical device manufacturing client in Indianapolis, IN.

The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $75,000-85,000 per year and includes several medical insurance options, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop effective manufacturing processes by evaluating product requirements and designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment to ensure desired results
- Improve ergonomics, design machine layouts and assist with installations, improve process flow, etc.
- Write work instructions and train employees how to work more efficiently
- Complete capital projects and process improvement projects
- Identify and resolve process operating problems, investigate equipment failures, draft follow-up action reports, and share technical assistance with workers on the floor
- Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues during manufacturing process
- Coordinate with operations and management personnel to develop a shared vision for the completion of daily tasks and then report on those activities
- Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering staff as well as outside contractors to improve equipment care, services, repairs, and work practice
- Monitor and improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow while optimizing space and equipment layout
- Identify new and creative solutions to resolve complex issues during the manufacturing process
- Handle additional duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required
- Minimum of three years of engineering experience within a manufacturing setting is required
- Ideal candidates will have experience within a regulated environment such as medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.
- Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing and / or possession of a Six Sigma Belt is preferred
- Must have experience working on the production floor with various types of manufacturing equipment
- Must possess the ability to read blueprints
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must possess strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is able to succeed with little supervision
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively work as part of a cross-functional team
