UPMC Dialysis is currently hiring Full-Time Registered Nurses! Nurses in our department typically work 10 or 12-hour day / evening shifts and on-call responsibilities are required.
This position will primarily work at UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Magee Hospitals. Nurses will help to support the hospitals within their designated Hospital Pod.
About the Position & Unit : The UPMC Hemodialysis Department provides inpatient hemodialysis and ultrafiltration services for the UPMC Presbyterian and UPMC Magee hospitals.
We care for patients who have developed acute renal failure during their hospital stay as well as patients with end-stage renal disease admitted for medical-surgical reasons.
We provide treatments in the hemodialysis unit as well as in the ICU or patient’s room, as needed. Hemodialysis RNs and Clinical Dialysis Technicians collaborate with attending nephrologists to ensure safe, high-quality care to a complex patient population.
Quick thinking and flexibility are a must due to the nature of the position and the local travel involved. Title and salary will be determined based on education and nursing experience.

The minimum rate of pay for a non-BSN Professional Staff Nurse is $31.60. Responsibilities :

- Previous dialysis experience is strongly preferred.
- Associate degree in nursing / bachelor’s degree in nursing / master’s degree in nursing accepted. If BS degree not in nursing, a master’s or higher degree in nursing is required.
- Demonstrated competence as a Professional Staff Nurse (RN).
- The individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and / or interact appropriately with the ages of the patients served by his / her assigned unit as specified below.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needs as described in the department policy and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients / families.
- Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment and handle multiple / changing priorities and specialized equipment.
- Exemplary clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances :
