Summary
Provides support for proposal development and submission for all SOM Dept. of Medicine sections. This includes working on behalf of faculty and students for all proposals to federal agencies, foundations and industry including clinical trials development Works closely with investigators to prepare budgets, formulate the IRB / IACUC preparation submission process.
Works closely with PIs in time-line management. Prepares necessary paperwork and where appropriate, negotiates with the funding sources.
Prepares monthly summary reports for the section chiefs and chairman on numbers of proposals submitted, status of previously submitted proposals, and awards received.
This position also supports select departmental office operations with any grant-related issues. Works closely with Sponsored Projects Administration and Grants and Contracts Accounting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years' directly-related work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent with 9 years' directly-related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in preparing budgets
- Experience managing research / clinical trial projects
- Experience in IRB / IACUC preparation
- NCURA Certification
