Canyon Ridge Hospital is currently seeking a compassionate and talented Mental Health Worker to join our team.

Canyon Ridge Hospital has serviced the Greater Inland Empire since 9. Canyon Ridge is a -bed acute, locked psychiatric facility offering services to adolescents ages -, adults and older adults.
We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously.
In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific needs.
The Mental Health Worker is responsible for providing direct patient care to Children, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics diagnosed with psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders;
to ensure the safety and well-being of these patients; to support the maintenance of therapeutic milieu. Responsible for maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment, reporting concerns to the nurse, documentation, facilitating or assisting with groups when necessary, following program specifications, and risk management.
Responsible for providing direct care and performing duties in accordance with hospital policies and procedures in collaboration with the nursing services team.

Qualifications
- High school level reading and writing skills
- CNA Certification preferred
- Availability to work every other weekend
- Acceptable oral and written communication skills
- Legible handwriting
- Ability to maintain information as highly confidential
- Telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face
- Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
- Skills in dealing courteously with the public and other staff within the organization
- Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful
- Skills in prioritizing and in managing time
- Problem-solving skills
- Use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect for staff and patients
- Empathy toward patients
- Basic knowledge of -step treatment program
- Insight regarding denial and resistance to treatment
- Knowledge of the recovery process,
- Including relapse and relapse prevention.
- Must be currently CPR certified through the American Heart Association only.
