Preferred - ACLS, OCNMust-Have : Skills in Telemetry, MS / Telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, starting IVs, and PICC line managementJob Description : - Manage patients with anticipated short lengths of stay, typically up to two midnights, focusing on effective care without premature discharge or admission.
- Provide care for various patient diagnoses, including dehydration, electrolyte abnormalities, nausea, vomiting, chemotherapy / radiation symptom management, acute kidney injury, palliative / pain control, urinary tract infection, syncope, post-procedure stays, transitions to hospice, PEG tube / line placement, and fever of unknown origin.
- Occasionally float to the emergency department to assist with inpatient med / surg telemetry patients awaiting transfer to their acute care unit.
- Work with a patient ratio of 1 : 4 alongside charge nurses, RNs, PCAs, and UCAs as resources.- Participate in orientation specific to the area.
- Wear navy blue / white scrubs which are not provided.- Fingerprinting is required promptly upon signing the contract, with strict compliance deadlines.
- Flu vaccine required, with medical exemptions only.- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after a six-month interval.
Current employees ineligible for travel roles within the same health system.- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.- Orientation is 24 hours.
