Opportunity
The Senior Product Manager, Core Software is responsible for managing the product development process associated with Heila’s core software, data processing, and cloud-based product applications.
In this central role, you will engage with external stakeholders and Heila’s business and engineering teams to plan, design, and launch new products.
Additionally, you will collaborate closely with other Product Managers (Algorithms, Hardware, UI / UX) and play a key central role in the development of the core product software infrastructure necessary to operate Heila’s diverse ecosystem.
You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment.
Specific Responsibilities
- Be the Product point person for the Core Software Engineering team, using high-level perspective to define goals and create a vision for Heila’s Core Software, data processing, and cloud infrastructure development efforts.
- Lead the development and execution of product strategy, roadmap, and requirements for our Core Software systems and cloud infrastructure products.
- Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to launch, including defining features, creating initiatives, epics, and user stories, and working with the engineering team to prioritize and deliver product features.
- Work closely with engineering to define technical requirements and ensure the product meets quality standards and performance goals.
- Participate in daily standups, as well as planning, review and retrospective meetings while tracking progress through meetings and results.
- Define and track product metrics, analyze data, and create reports to inform decision-making.
- Manage cross-functional teams and work with stakeholders across the organization to ensure product success.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to distributed / edge computing and cloud infrastructure.
- Mentor and coach junior product managers, and lead by example by demonstrating best practices in product management.
- Lead and maintain product documentation for workflows, processes, and best practices across Core Software and cloud infrastructure.
Skills / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. Master’s Degree in technical field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in product management or technical product management.
- 6+ years of experience distributed / edge computing and cloud infrastructure systems.
- Experience with the systems of AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP, or other cloud infrastructure providers.
- Experience working with edge-to-cloud data and control pipelines.
- Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres.
- Experience working in an agile development environment and using agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of security, privacy, and compliance requirements related to distributed / edge computing and cloud infrastructure.
- Interest in learning about control and optimization systems used in distributed energy projects.
- Interest in learning about distributed energy equipment and applications including solar arrays, batteries, generators, fuel cells, among others.

The salary range for this position is $125,700 - $160,600. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
