We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join our legal team. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to clients facing criminal charges.
The successful candidate will negotiate plea bargains, draft motions and pleadings, and represent clients at hearings and trials.
Must have exceptional legal writing and drafting skills, with a strong emphasis on clarity, persuasiveness and structure.
Prior experience in law review or appellate practice preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to determine strategies for defending clients.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and options and recommend a course of action.
- Prepare and file motions and pleadings in court.
- Negotiate plea bargains with prosecutors.
- Represent clients at hearings and trials.
- Gather evidence, interview witnesses, and prepare cases for trial.
- Create and maintain client relationships.
Requirements and Qualifications :
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the state.
- Proven experience as a criminal defense attorney.
- Exceptional legal writing and drafting skills
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to remain calm and collected under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Knowledge of court rules and procedures.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be able to occasionally travel to out of State or county cases
