Summary / Objective :
The Shift Manager / Lead directs and coordinates the activities of the team members engaged in the production of injection-molded products, by monitoring quality, efficiency, safety, and troubleshooting.
Duties and Responsibilities :

- Assign daily work tasks for direct labor based on production schedule and operator certification levels.
- Ensure shift personnel are safe, adhere to PPE requirements, follow safety policies, and complete assigned tasks in a safe manner.
- Manage IQMS downtime coding, end-of-shift reporting, line clearances, cycle counts, updating jobs, and resolving disposition errors.
- Adhere to the production schedule, including reading IQMS and priority notes. Schedule indirect labor to complete shutdown, changeover, and startup of jobs.
- Monitor IQMS in real-time maintaining proper cycle times and responding quickly to presses going down.
- Enforce worker compliance with all work instructions, TWIs, Point & Touch, procedures, employee handbook, molding shutdown and startup checklist, process discipline, and time and attendance policy.
- Communicate using written end-of-shift reports, shift changeover meetings, communication boards, and verbal communication with managers.
- Responsible for the security and operation of the plant during shift hours including 5S, cleanliness, and proper plant shutdown and startup operations.
- Maintain process control to include adherence to approved process, completion of PMLs once per shift, recording process changes on the change log, and turning on press monitor alarms for pink PML presses.
- Ensure part quality is maintained based on PPAP parts, last and 1st shots, IPIS inspections, and QC Inspector determinations.
- Perform basic process troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ensure timecards in ADP are completed accurately and timely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Education and experience required for the role.
- Minimum of five (5) + years of supervisory experience, preferably in the injection molding industry.
- GED or High school diploma required.
- Bilingual English / Spanish, both verbal and written is preferred.
- Ability to write, read, understand, and edit manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and schedules. Basic computer skills.
- Able to interact with other departments for instruction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Supervisor Responsibilities :
This position is responsible for overseeing team members engaged in production, including Press Operators, Material Handlers, Mold Setters, and Process Technicians.
Indirect responsibility for Shippers, and QC Inspectors.
