VP of Procurement
Location : South San Francisco
- Hours : Monday through Friday 5am - 3pm
- Salary Range : $170-180k w / bonus and benefits

Summary :
The VP of Procurement reports directly to the President / Owner of a thriving organic produce and dairy distributor and will lead the procurement team, overseeing daily operations to ensure alignment with the company's strategic growth.
This role focuses on developing supply strategies, managing vendor relationships, and controlling costs while ensuring product quality meets customer specifications.
You will be leading a team of 3-4 including a Manager of Procurement and buyers.
What you will be doing :
- Budget Management : Oversee a $30M procurement spend, developing strategies to optimize costs and supply chains.
- Strategic Development : Create and implement procurement strategies to support company growth, aligning with customer demand and market trends.
- Vendor Evaluation : Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and farms to ensure quality, price, and delivery standards meet customer needs.
- Partnership Development : Collaborate with farms on product development and coordinate seasonal planting for proprietary products.
- Performance Tracking : Develop tools to monitor costs, track efficiencies, and report performance monthly and annually.
- Cost Optimization : Regularly review purchasing costs and savings, focusing on reducing inefficiencies.
- Contract Negotiation : Negotiate supplier contracts and terms, ensuring alignment with procurement strategies.
- Market Analysis : Stay informed on market conditions, buying trends, and regional cost variations to identify opportunities.
- Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all vendors meet HAACP and Organic Certification standards.
- Inventory Control : Collaborate with warehousing and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
What you bring :
- Experience : Minimum 5 years in leadership roles within procurement, warehouse operations, or produce distribution.
- Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Industry Expertise : Proven experience in perishable goods or food distribution, with a strong understanding of supply chain management.
- Technical Skills : Experience with warehousing systems and inventory control.
- Leadership Ability : Track record of setting and achieving operational performance objectives.
- Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact across diverse backgrounds and departments.
- Language Skills : Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Authorization : Must be authorized to work in the United States.
