DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Conduct individual, group and family therapy in accordance with license requirements, CARF standards and Caron Policies.
2. Evaluate signs and symptoms of coexisting conditions including mental and behavioral health.
3. Will identify problems and goals to work on to improve the family system, as well as coordinating family calls and / or visits when necessary.
4. Provide counseling and education for each individual patient and their families by selecting the counseling theories, applying techniques to assist the patient, group, or family in accordance with cultural, gender, lifestyle, and age differences.
5. The Family Therapist has the ability to coordinate all services for patient / family care.
6. The Family Therapist can identify needs and problem areas that are beyond the scope of care offered by Caron. Must be able to explain rationale for referral to patient and match the appropriate referral to the patients’ needs.
7. Work within the ethical constraints of professional or organizational ethical standards as they apply to the position.
8. Effectively communicate relevant clinical information to the patient, family, referent, group, and staff.
9. Promote a trauma informed and resilient environment by demonstrating the Universal Expectations.
10. Respond to out-of-hour issues / concerns in a timely and effective manner. Able to conduct after hours baker act services as needed.
11. Document family formulations, progress notes, case consultations, telephone calls and other relevant information in the patient records in accordance with Caron policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE / EDUCAITON QUALIFICATIONS :
1. Licensed master’s degree (LCSW, LMHC) required with 2 years clinical experience.
2. 1 year of mental health programming experience preferred.
3. If in recovery, 2 years continuous sobriety preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
1. An excellent understanding of the emotional and behavioral effects of addiction and mental health problems.
2. An excellent understanding of family systems.
3. Ability to use clinical software and other software programs.
4. Strong organizational and time management skills.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to be on-call in the event of an emergency.
