The Capital Planning Group is responsible for calculating, analyzing and reporting firm-wide Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) projections for all business lines.
The RWA measures support Citi’s internal capital planning practices, and the Federal Reserve Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and Dodd-Frank Act stress tests (DFAST) external regulatory filings and disclosures.
This position involves understanding business and finance balance sheet forecasting, and the implications on the RWA forecast.
The forecasted number is a critical indicator of the amount of capital needed for CCAR results during a stressed or severely stressed economic environment, then used as an input to Citi’s capital planning exercise and CCAR Fed reporting.
Key success factors will be this position's ability to perform analytics on large datasets and ability to learn the rules of RWA calculation and process.
The candidate must be able to summarize the finding and create commentary that can be consumed by seniors and others outside the RWA team.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required given the high level of interaction with senior managers, as well as the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Technical skill is important to the candidate's success, but also is strong project management and multi-tasking skills to plan and manage deliverables towards a number of objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support the RWA forecasting processes for Citigroup and CBNA.
- Act as a liaison between RWA sub-worsktreams and other functions such as Model Risk, Internal Audit, Independent Risk, Finance, and Technology partners.
- Coordinate the execution of the internal Capital Planning and external CCAR / DFAST production process, with a focus on RWA.
- Facilitate regular check-in meetings with the RWA workstream , track progress on all open deliverables, and provide the workstreams support during the productions cycle.
- Prepare high quality presentations for executive / senior management level reporting, including decision-making ad-hoc analytics.
- Prepare and review RWA projection methodology and process documents, as well other related documentation and governance requirements.
- Perform business analysis , working closely with RWA and balance sheet reporting line users and downstream consumers, as required.
- Ability to create front-to-back view of data flow based on identifying data linkages across systems
- Provide project management support as part of a complex CCAR front-to-back change project delivery.
- Identify and escalate the need for process, execution and control enhancements .
- Document business requirements and perform / coordinate UAT efforts.
- Monitor, track and report project progress to the stakeholders and to the Managing Director of CCAR Execution.
- Manage issues / risks on projects with timely issue escalations and suggestions for issue resolutions
Qualifications :
- Must have a Bachelors in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Math, or related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in Financial Services industry or data analytics.
- Prior experience in regulatory reporting functions , financial control function with clear knowledge and understanding of balance sheet forecasting, and RWA and Capital calculations, across different products and Basel risk pillars.
- Self-motivated with ability to make decisions and maintain a control environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks , tireless work ethic and ability to work well under pressure and exhibit strong partnership skills.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail , willingness to "roll up sleeves" and produce a polished, high quality, accurate product.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills . Ability to quickly assimilate and analyze large amounts of information.
