The New Hartford Central School District is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Athletics who possesses and maintains qualities of leadership, advocacy, and professionalism to set the standard and further the goals of the New Hartford Central School District.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Maintaining an athletic program that ensures a cooperative, supportive, and participative environment for all students, coaches, faculty, and community;
- Being visionary and innovative and will create the short and long-term goals for the school athletic program;
- Providing leadership that is proactive and positive;
- Performing and showing accountability for managerial functions that reflect knowledge and organizational competence;
- Working with the coaching staff, providing an athletic program that promotes good sportsmanship and citizenship;
- Building positive relationships with community youth organizations;
- Publicizing school athletic events.
Qualifications :
- MS. or M.A. in Education
- New York State Teaching and Administrative Certification
- Five years of administrative experience preferred
- Coaching experience
- Knowledge of local leagues, Section III, and NYSPHSAA rules and regulations
