Kforce has a client in Los Angeles, CA that is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their agile development team, focusing on service delivery, reliability, scalability, and infrastructure-as-code.

This company values individuals who can create and maintain infrastructure through code, automating repetitive tasks, and providing tools for seamless operations.

The tech stack includes Go, React, React Native, MySQL, Redis, and Algolia, deployed on AWS using ECS. This role offers an opportunity to drive change, growth, and maturity in a dynamic, fast-paced, and expanding department.

This role is onsite 4 days a week in LA.

Responsibilities :

  • Implement automation, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code
  • Develop and enhance CI / CD processes for new and existing services
  • Improve alerting and escalation mechanisms
  • Strengthen application and environment security, applying standards and best practices
  • Iterate on best practices to enhance deployment quality and velocity
  • Focus on high availability and scalability to increase system performance
  • Propose, scope, design, and implement various infrastructure architectures

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of DevOps / SRE experience in consumer software
  • 4+ years of experience with AWS (EKS, RDS, AWS Aurora, Lambdas, Autoscaling, load balancers, VPC setting, etc.)
  • AWS expertise (IAM, EC2, VPC, NLB, Autoscaling)
  • Proficient in scripting (Bash, Python) for task automation
  • Practical experience with Docker and clustering (ECS / Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
  • Microservices experience with a strong grasp of 12-factor principles
  • Comfortable with emerging technologies and assessing technological risks
  • Goal-oriented with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills for educating others on provided tools / services
  • Strong Terraform skills
  • Kubernetes expertise, including setting up, migrating, and upgrading clusters
  • Database experience, handling large loads, scaling, and potential migration (RDS to Aurora)
  • Linux knowledge
  • Bash and Python scripting expertise
  • Experience with Observability and logging
  • CICD tools : Jenkins, Github Action experience
  • Monitoring tools : DataDog, Grafana / Prometheus experience
  • Docker application experience
  • Configuration Management (any) : Ansible, Chef / Puppet experience
  • Secrets Management experience - AWS Secrets Management, any vault
  • Understanding of SRE / DevOps team dynamics and size
  • Familiarity with GO, NodeJS / React apps is a plus
  • Retail / E-commerce experience is a plus
  • Golang development experience is a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role.

We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs.

This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical / dental / vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees.

Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Salary : $150,000 - $165,000 per year
