Job Description
Academic Mastery Academy is seeking an experienced, full-time Administrator (K-8 Grades) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year.
This role is pivotal in providing academic, emotional, and physical support to students who require additional assistance to thrive within our core academic program.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the school director to supervise students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and regular education students, while fostering a positive and supportive school climate.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Alignment and Implementation : Ensure curriculum aligns with Illinois Learning Standards and common core standards.
Manage program implementation, assessment tools, and supplemental materials.
- Instructional Support : Support teachers in developing weekly lesson plans aligned with student IEP goals. Perform and submit formal assessments, develop IEP goals, and provide data-based progress reports.
- Professional Development : Mentor and train classroom and 1 : 1 paraprofessional staff. Provide monthly suggestions for training to enhance staff skills.
- School Climate and Culture : Supervise and manage school climate. Create a supportive environment that encourages family involvement and communication.
- Compliance and Reporting : Adhere to mandated reporting guidelines. Communicate with school districts' special education directors and parents regarding student performance.
Maintain and update student files.
Collaboration : Participate in student IEP / Multidisciplinary Conference (MDC) meetings, annual reviews, and transition meetings.
Support the director in conducting school safety drills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education; Master's degree or Illinois Professional Educator License preferred.
- Administration Leadership Endorsement.
- Professional Education License - Illinois State teaching certificate.
- Ability to obtain certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (CPI and CPR).
- Strong multitasking skills in a high-stress environment.
- Ability to interact with diverse personalities and populations.
- Experience as an educator and supervisor of educators preferred.
- Commitment to supporting at-risk families.
- Cultural and linguistic competency appropriate to service area.
- Current, up-to-date physical clearances.
- Passion for working with children with disabilities.
