We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager / Coordinator for a very reputable commercial flooring contractor. This person will support the project management team in the successful execution of commercial flooring projects.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for delivering high-quality results.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong ability to communicate with customers, construction teams and project management personnel on specifications, scope of work, cost, and performance challenges.
  • Work in the field 50% of the time, collaborating directly with superintendents, labor crews, and other on-site personnel to ensure project success.

Spend the remaining 50% of time on administrative tasks and coordination from the office

  • Strong knowledge of flooring products and installation, for problem-solving field issues during production along with identifying future challenges during the bidding phase.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and effectively respond to customer proposals / RFP's.
  • Familiar with construction industry practices, methods, materials, installations, specifications, and conditions.
  • Proficiency with various systems and software tools commonly used in the industry to effectively manage the estimating, project planning and tracking processes.
  • Experience working on large flooring projects, assuring successful completion of cost, schedule, and quality expectations over an extended time while effectively managing risks.
  • Proficient Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commercial flooring sales experience is a plus but not necessary.
  • Previous experience in the construction industry, ideally in commercial flooring or related trades.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
  • Proficient Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office
