UC Health is hiring a Clinical Staff Pharmacist for The Investigational Pharmacy Department at the University of Cincinnati's Medical Center.

The Clinical Staff Pharmacist will work as a member of the UC Health Investigational Pharmacy as a research pharmacist providing services and care to ambulatory research patients in the UCMC Infectious Diseases Research Unit (IDRU) and a new Clinical Research Center (CRC).
The pharmacist will work closely with interprofessional research colleagues and teams to support IDRU and CRC research studies and enrolled research patients.
The pharmacist will be responsible for research medication ordering, control, accountability, dispensing, and monitoring.
The pharmacist will participate in research program meetings and research service coordination including study budgeting (pharmacy portion), research monitoring visits, and clinical trial planning.

Responsibilities
- Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Interprets medication orders (verbal and written) and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles accurately;
maintains accurate, complete medication profiles Prepares and dispenses medications, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition preparations safely and accurately using appropriate techniques Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintain records as required by law.
- Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.
- Maintains competence required for current job title / position.
- Meets hospital and department standards of performance.
- Maintains competence required for current job title / position.
- Assists with pharmacokinetics consult service and drug dosing per organizational protocol.
Qualifications
Education : B.S. in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy is required. PharmD preferred degree.
License and Certification : Licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of Ohio ACLS preferred.
Years of Experience : Greater than or equal to a six-month hospital pharmacy internship or hospital experience as a pharmacist is preferred.
Preference will be given to completion of a PGY1 pharmacy residency program (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).

- handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergent requests;
exercise sound professional judgment; communicate effectively (orally and in writing); and meet the pharmaceutical care needs of the patient populations served by UC Health.

Expected starting salary range for this position is between $56.81 / hr.- $70.23 / hr.
The actual pay rate for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position.
