Network Engineer
Description
SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to join our team based out of Norfolk, VA.
The qualified candidate will support the project at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek by providing network support, hardware review, testing, and evaluation, and direct support to customers.
Typical core hours are 0800 to 1700.
Job Responsibilities :
- Apply industry knowledge and technical abilities to assist customers in management of networks and hardware at sites under the command.
- Management and maintenance of switches, routers, firewalls, VPN gateways, VoIP telephones, VTC, and INE devices.
- Configure, patch and apply DISA STIG to all Layer 2 and Layer 3 network services, to include switches routers, firewalls, etc.
- Manage all network resources to avoid outages and downtime, including backups.
- Serve as SME for deployment of tactical enclaves for exercises or contingency environments.
- Full time operational deployment, setup and pack-up, and system operation and maintenance, to include preventative maintenance.
- Create Request for Maintenance Assistance (RMA).
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelors and two (2) years' experience; Masters and zero (0) years' experience; four (4) years' experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Qualifications :
- Demonstrated experience with configuration and troubleshooting of routing, routing protocols, ACLs, firmware upgrades, DHCP.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot networks, firewalls, and connectivity.
- Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of VoIP. CUCM a plus.
- CCNA Certification required or ability to obtain within 90 days for candidate with acceptable experience and resident network knowledge.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
- Experience with Network Encryption devices.
Required Clearance :
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. A minimum of an Interim Secret clearance will be required prior to first day of employment.
Required Travel :
Travel required up to 10% of the time.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
