Accounting Manager

We have partnered with a renowned nonprofit educational institution who is currently seeking an Accounting Manager. This role is integral to the financial health and operational efficiency of the school, requiring a leader who can manage the accounting team and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.

Responsibilities :

• Maintain student tuition accounts and ensure incoming payments are processed according to financial policies and procedures
• Monitor A / R aging reports and follow up with parents when payments are not received on time
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data
• Reconcile accounts receivable ensuring all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Update vendors in the accounting system, verify discrepancies, and help resolve billing issues
• Assist the Controller with month end and year end close procedures including postings, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and two annual audits
• Create and send out monthly budget reports and assist the CFO in monitoring budgets and enforcing internal controls
• Support the CFO in the development of the annual Preliminary and Final Budgets
• Support the CFO and HR Coordinator in developing the budget for salaries and benefits
• Complete ongoing financial analysis to guide policies and update the Multi Year Financial Plan

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field required
• A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience preferably in a non-profit educational setting
• Self-starter, able to work independently and prioritize with superb organizational skills
• Proficient with technology (strong knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and ideally Blackbaud
• Excellent communicator with the ability to interface professionally with all levels of the organization
• Detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines, comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with priorities that can change constantly
