The Work

The primary responsibility of this role is to be a solution architect in medium to large opportunities involving Mainframe managed services, Systems integration and Infra support engagements, with the ability to individually create Solutions leveraging deep solutioning and delivery experience in one or more areas, while being able to develop these in a collaborative basis with the client including advising / co-creating the solutions.

Role Expectations

  • Architect the Mainframe technology solutions
  • Collaborative solutioning including client workshops, joint solutioning sessions, and co-creation sessions
  • Represent the solution in conversation with Operating Group leadership and sales team, senior client buyers and functional owners
  • Drive the necessary Technology Delivery sign off on solutions with proper input from the Operating Groups on client business objectives, industry, risk assessment, budget and preferences
  • Promote the use of standards in solutions by coordinating with Legal and Commercial and directing Corporate Transaction Services
  • Collaborate with the Operating Groups to provide input to Terms and Conditions, and in some cases, be accountable for specific contractual terms and conditions

Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here's What You Need

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Technology Environment with a strong focus on outsourcing and / or systems integration solutions for Mainframe.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Solution Planning and Deal Shaping.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mainframe Technology with an expertise in at least 1 technology : z / OS, CICS, VSAM, COBOL, HLASM, z / OS Connect EE services.
  • Integration middleware technologies such as zOS Connect, Solace, Kafka, and message protocols / formats such as JMS, SOAP, JSON, XML.
  • Experience in enterprise-grade tape and disk storage systems (DASD) for mainframe environments and mainframe storage management solutions like DFSMS, FDR / ABR, CA-1, DFRMM or similar tools
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years work experience)

Bonus points if you have :

  • Strong Infrastructure managed services or SI expertise in a domain
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to influence and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the application and infrastructure ecosystem in terms of Products and Technologies.
  • Understanding of public cloud service : Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, IBM Bluemix, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and Open Shift and containerization technologies Docker and Kubernetes
  • Ability to understand client business and technology drivers- business IT alignment.
  • Strong capability to estimate, size, and come up with dependencies / assumptions in solutioning.
  • Ability to work across levels at the client; exposure to NA geography is a good additional skill
  • Strong aptitude to be an individual contributor.
  • Experience and exposure in collaborative technology solutioning including client workshops, joint solutioning sessions, and co-creation sessions.
  • Delivery experience in SI and Infrastructure. Delivery either as client facing or offshore accountable leads.
  • Expert in formulating the solution storyline, ability to collaborate in creating client value propositions, Product / Concept selling, Pre-sales / Solution Architecting, Executive Presence.
  • Experience in one or two major industries (utilities / chemicals / oil-gas, consumer goods / manufacturing / retail / pharma / life sciences, comms media and technology, health and public services, financial services).

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.

As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, New York or Washington as set forth below.
