Description :
Waypoint’s client is looking for a skilled Cyber Software Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on integrating and modifying computer-based software systems with a particular emphasis on systems and software integration, including software packaging.
The Cyber Software Engineer will be instrumental in developing, coding, testing, and debugging software while ensuring compliance with cyber and safety standards.
Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, code, test, and debug software systems with a focus on integration and packaging.
- Utilize expertise to integrate software with existing systems and manage software packaging.
- Evaluate user requirements to define the scope and objectives of new or existing systems.
- Provide technical advice and analytical support throughout the development and implementation phases.
- Configure Windows Server environments, including installation, initial system settings, network configurations, and user account management.
- Perform tasks to identify and document hazards within software systems using various analysis tools.
- Review systems and software to ensure adherence to government or commercial directives and safety standards.
- Confirm that design mitigations are documented and effectively implemented.
- Plan and schedule application systems projects, including defining objectives, timelines, costs, and manpower.
- Potentially lead projects, including instructing and monitoring performance of systems developers / analysts.
- Provide leadership in technical development and guide less experienced engineers.
- Offer technical solutions to complex problems with minimal direction and independently determine approaches to solutions
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 to 8 years of experience; Master’s degree with 3 to 5 years of experience;
OR PhD with 0 to 2 years of experience
- Demonstrated experience in software development, system evaluation, and project management within a technical environment.
- Deep knowledge of Windows Server environments and architecture.
- Proficiency with Windows command line, PowerShell, and Active Directory (AD) management.
- Experience with configuring and managing AD Federation Services (AD FS), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and file systems.
- Familiarity with Tenable.sc, Nessus Scanners, and Nessus Network Monitor.
- Experience with CyberArk installation and configuration, including Digital Vault and PVWA.
- Integration & Scripting Skills :
- Experience with API / SIEM integration and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
- Proficiency in integrating Tenable.sc with other security tools and managing CyberArk solutions.
- Certifications :
- DoD Approved 8570 and 8140 IAT Level 2 (preferably Level 3).
- Tenable Certified Nessus Auditor (TCNA) and Tenable Certified Security Center Specialist (TCSS).
- CyberArk Trustee, Defender, and Sentry Certifications.
- Extensive hands-on experience with deploying and managing Tenable.sc, Nessus, and CyberArk solutions in large-scale environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of optimizing solutions in diverse network architectures.
