A Facility Operations Assistant 1 must be physically able to perform the duties assigned and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license is preferred, but not required.
Duties Description The Office of Mental Health (OMH) is recruiting to fill a Facility Operations Assistant 1 position. These are temporary / hourly positions in the Bureau of Environmental Design and Improvement located in the Long Island region.
Specific duties to be performed may include, but are not limited to, the following :
Assist with repair and maintenance tasks in one or more of the construction trades.
Work under the direction of a field supervisor and follow verbal instructions.
Perform moderate to heavy manual labor including cleaning tasks.
May climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms, and in confined spaces.
Demonstrate the ability to adhere to OSHA safety standards.
Travel within assigned region to multiple OMH facilities.
