This Registered Nurse for the Postpartum Unit t opportunity is per diem and offers a convenient day shift schedule. This dynamic individual will take care of pregnant patients during labor, obstetrical emergencies, and other obstetric conditions.

The labor and delivery nurse provides care during the intrapartum period (labor and birth). A labor and delivery nurse provides support, medical care, and constant monitoring of the pregnant patient and her fetus throughout labor and birth.

Labor and delivery nurses assist and educate patients with labor and delivery conditions. Labor and delivery nurses provide incredible patient support, critical nursing care, and comprehensive pregnancy and postpartum education.

Job Duties / Responsibilities :

• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill. Integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities.
• Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients. Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient / family needs.
• Collaborates with the patients designated care partner to meet the educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the patient.

Qualifications

• ADN Nursing Degree required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Current NV RN nursing license
• Minimum of one (1) year full tine acute care experiencece
• BLS certificaton
• PALS & STABLE certification (within 6 months of hire)
