Cloud DevOps Engineer - Fairfax, VA

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Developer to join our team to collaborate with various IT disciplines to develop and maintain a cloud / hosting strategy aimed at mitigating cyber risks.

You will work closely with Cloud Architecture and Operations teams to support the client's objectives and challenges. Additionally, you will assist in implementing cybersecurity COTS solutions with a focus on next-generation security technologies.

This role is will be supporting a Northern VA / DC / MD client.

Responsibilities of the Software Developer include :

• Create and implement automated deployment and patching systems that support an AWS-based shared services platform for a variety of users and projects across several baselines (machine images and containers)
• Create solutions that support innovation initiatives in data analysis, process optimization, machine learning, and other software and systems that further the client's goals by collaborating with cutting-edge and new technologies
• Assist users with environment setup, upgrades, and configuration changes
• Coordinate and communicate proactively with various project teams

Qualifications of the Software Developer include :

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with 3-5 years of related experience, and certifications in cloud / information systems security
• Must have experience in DevSecOps, including CI / CD automation and hands-on with AWS Glue for ETL processes and data pipelines
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Ansible / Terraform / CloudFormation) for automation, monitoring, and scaling
• Experience designing and deploying applications with AWS CDK, and managing container solutions on Kubernetes or Amazon ECS
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to client deliverables and technical content, with AWS Solutions Architect - Associate certification.
• Work Authorization : US Citizen, GC Holder
• Active Public Trust clearance or above preferred

Compensation for the Software Developer include :

Salary range : $130,000+ / yr depending on experience and education
