GENERAL SUMMARY :
The APP Manager will provide administrative support for a defined group of APPs including setting expectations for APPs, ensuring credentialing, managing education, benefit, and salary issues, and participating on the appropriate Henry Ford Health committees that impact these providers as required.
Time commitment is approximately a 50 / 50 split in time between clinical shifts and administrative time.
Ability and willingness to work clinically on both CVICU and GPU, both day and night shifts
3-5 years of leadership experience, 5+ years preferred.
Recent clinical experience (has not been solely admin)
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Operational Responsibilities
Manages and coordinates assigned clinical activities within a defined administrative scope. 2. Accountable for managing tasks needed to complete goals with respect to productivity, professional behavior, quality of care, patient satisfaction, internal customer satisfaction, job satisfaction and other performance indicators deemed important.
Works closely with Medical Staff Affairs, assures that all APPs meet or exceed the credentialing criteria set forth by Henry Ford Health and The Joint Commission.
Functions as a resource to APPs, Medical Staff Affairs and System Leadership resolving any issues.
Works closely with administrative and leadership partners to understand and develop financial performance targets.
Develops, implements, and ensures adherence to quality standards, process improvement programs, and practices consistency where applicable.
Promotes the educational and research mission of the institution encouraging APP representation and initiatives in these areas.
Liaisons with academic institutions with the goal of increasing Henry Ford Health’s participation.
Professional Staff / Human Resources Management
Provides regular and timely communication among a defined group of APPs.
Represents APPs concerns and needs in Henry Ford Health’s policy issues.
Regularly monitors and ensures compliance with annual performance review deadlines.
Works closely with HR and APP recruiters, develops, and implements recruitment and retention initiatives for APPs to reduce turnover, promote long-term commitment, and career development within the system.
Additional Duties
Participate in strategic planning and supervise / support implementation of strategies and tactics related to APPs.
Interface with external organizations, joint venture partners, and the community as needed to promote APPs practice and utilization.

Provides frequent feedback and assure the recognition of contributions of APPs on a regular basis throughout the system

Time commitment is approximately 70% administrative and 30% clinical practice, or as determined by leadership. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program and certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) OR master's prepared Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with NP board certification in their chosen specialty.
Five years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider. CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURES REQUIRED : Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant licensure in the State of Michigan and current National Board Certification by approved accrediting bodies.
Current ACLS or BLS as required. Current ATLS / PALS provider status as required.
Qualifications :
NP Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
PA Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)
NP Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan
PA Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Licensure and Certification
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)
National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
DEA / CSL, required through credentialing.
Current ATLC / PALS provider status as required.
Experience / Education Required
