Mission

As Corporate Counsel of Spartan Investment Group, your mission is to provide strategic legal guidance that empowers the company to achieve its business goals while mitigating risks in a complex real estate environment.

A key aspect of your job is ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, fostering strong relationships with investors and stakeholders, and supporting the company’s growth by facilitating efficient, legally sound transactions.

Through proactive risk management, ethical decision-making, and innovative legal solutions, your actions will protect the company’s assets and reputation, driving sustainable, long-term success in the competitive real estate market.

Outcomes

  • Successful Transaction Completion Rate : Close at least 90% of real estate acquisitions and development transactions within the initial contracted time limit.
  • Budget Control on External Legal Spend : Limit the variance between actual external legal spending and budget to no more than a 5% difference annually.
  • Response Time for Legal Inquiries : Provide internal teams and external stakeholders with legal guidance or responses to inquiries within an average of 24 business hours.
  • Comprehensive Legal Risk Assessments : Ensure that 100% of the properties in Spartan Investment Group’s portfolio undergo a comprehensive legal risk assessment at least once every 12 months.
  • Reduction in Legal Risk Exposure : Achieve a 15% reduction in overall legal risk exposure through proactive risk management initiatives within the first 12 months.
  • Risk Mitigation Strategy Implementation : Create the plan to achieve 100% compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to real estate, labor, tax, and corporate governance across Spartan’s operations.
  • Standardization and Efficiency in Legal Processes : Implement standardized legal procedures and templates across all acquisition and development transactions, reducing the time spent on legal document preparation by 20% within the first year.

  • Real Estate Law and Transactions - Expertise in structuring, drafting, and negotiating real estate documents, and managing large-scale real estate acquisitions, development, and financing transactions.
  • Contract Negotiation - Advanced skills in negotiating complex contracts and managing external legal counsel to meet business objectives while controlling costs.
  • Persuasion Use your arguments to influence counterparties to adopt your legal opinion that supports the best outcome for the company.
