Position Summary
THE FOCUS IS YOU :
We are looking to add a High-Net-Worth Tax Senior Accountant to help lead and guide our clients, in addition to support our internal leaders with the on-going growth in our Melville, NY office.
As a Tax Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for helping prepare and review financial information for clients, such as business and individual tax returns, with the benefit of gaining exposure to a diverse client base operating in a variety of industries.
The Tax Senior Accountant serves to maintain client relationships and act as a liaison between overseeing the work of internal staff and working closely with internal leaders, to ensure high-quality work is conducted and delivered to our clients.
- Prepare and review federal, state and local tax returns, extensions and quarterly projections for individual clients, Trusts, and gift tax returns.
- Preparation and review of individual tax compliance forms and working with a dedicated individual tax team.
- Review federal and state tax returns and work of staff and interns and provide feedback, training and mentoring.
- Review tax information supplied by clients and obtain open items.
- Develop tax planning opportunities arising from inbound and outbound cross-border transactions and activities.
- Assist with the coordination of planning, tax work and wrap up.
- Facilitate tax research, and establish tax strategies to client business opportunities.
- Identify and communicate tax issues to clients and Manager.
- Builds client relationships; maintains smooth working relationship with clients.
- Effectively develops, supervises, trains, coaches, and mentor's staff.
- Promotes the most efficient operations of the Firm and supports compliance guidelines in managing others.
- Adhere to firm’s policies and procedures.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- 4+ years in relevant position
- Public accounting or other professional services environment preferred
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technology experience
- Bachelor’s in Accounting (for Audit or Tax)
License / Certification
- Must progress professionally by obtaining relevant certification as soon as possible if certification is not already attained in order to advance
- Must maintain required CPE credits annually
Legal / Compliance
- Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document
- Governmental engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government

This range considers many factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s knowledge, job specific skills, experience, licensure, and certifications.
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is $93,000 to $130,000.
