The Role

As the Assistant Program Director for Housing & Stabilization, you will play a key role in supervising and managing the Housing & Stabilization Department.

You will provide management-level support to the Program Director and ensure the highest quality standards in client services and employee supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train Housing Specialists and other staff as directed by the Program Director.
• Ensure proper administration by setting goals, monitoring outcomes, and enforcing quality standards.
• Establish and maintain systems for effective and uniform client services and employee supervision.
• Communicate regularly with funders, State agencies, regulatory authorities, and community partners.
• Provide 24 / 7 on-call support and timely updates to the Program Director.
• Conduct team meetings, supervisions, performance evaluations, and other supervisory functions.
• Ensure compliance with contractually mandated paperwork and high standards of documentation.
• Maintain contact with the Facilities Department to ensure the habitability of Emergency Family Shelter Program units.
• Assist in various Human Resources functions and address client and staff grievances.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and training new and existing employees.
• Represent MHSA at meetings, trainings, hearings, and special events.

What We're Looking For

• Education : Associate degree and two years of relevant experience required; Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred.
• Experience :
• Extensive knowledge of MHSA, EOHLC, BHA, DCF, and other agency forms, procedures, and operations.
• Knowledge of homelessness issues and housing search.
• Experience with service agencies and resources for homeless families.
• Experience in contract management.
• Skills :
• Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
• Ability to work as part of a dynamic team and manage multiple tasks with a diverse population.
• CPR / AED / First Aid certified (MHSA will provide training opportunities).
• Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctual reporting for work.
• Other Requirements :
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Satisfactory CORI / SORI reports at all times while employed by MHSA.
