The mission of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is the development of professional health care practitioners through innovation, individualized, and quality classroom, clinical, and distance education.

General Summary

Student Workers are selected to fill a variety of positions across the university and in various campus departments. The positions are designed to help students support themselves during their education, while teaching valuable work skills and contributing to university and departmental needs. A Student Worker assists the assigned team / department in tasks, projects, and research activities, ideally related to their field of study.

The Student Worker reports directly to the Department / Project Manager and works closely with them to complete projects, receive guidance, mentoring, and supervision.

Specific assignments include, but are not limited to :

  • Library support and coverage
  • Academic labs support (Wet, Dry, Modalities)
  • Student Ambassadors – Tutors, Tours
  • Student Services – Tutors
  • Facilities – Room Monitors, Front Desk coverage
  • Working Scholars Projects – as needed, based on program guidelines

ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Duties vary depending on the assignment.

Requirements and Eligibility

Students must meet the following to be eligible :

  • Available to work flexible schedules, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays; at least two per month.
  • May be required to work at special events based on availability.
  • Willing to work at any assigned location.
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must be in good standing with the school.
  • Must be beyond first term, between 2nd and 6th term.
  • Plan to work approximately 10 hours / week; up to 15 hours with prior approval, depending on GPA and academic standing.

    Reports to : Department or Project Manager

    Skills Required

  • Strong spelling, grammar, punctuation, and writing skills
  • Effective communication with diverse staff and faculty
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills and keyboarding
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Organized, problem-solving skills, responsive to routine questions
  • Education and Experience

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program, 2nd to 6th term.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • In good standing with the university.
  • Work Environment

    Primarily in an office setting; involves operation of computer equipment and physical activities like walking, standing, communicating.
