OVERALL ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Senior Strategic Planner will be instrumental in helping to grow the business and drive success. You’ll work closely with and report directly to the President / Head of Strategy.

You’ll help grow and support both the Strategy and Account teams by uncovering information, distilling insights and synthesizing them to create inspirational strategy for our creative teams and clients.

Your role will span brand / business strategy and creative strategy. Managing multiple internal, new business and client projects, you’ll effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams both internally and externally, as well as running projects independently.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving the development of brand architecture work, including purpose development, strategic positioning, and more
  • Leading and participating in senior-level client workshops that will drive strategic decision making
  • Overseeing and conducting audience identification and segmentation projects / deliverables, as well as customer journey exercises
  • Commissioning and conducting both qualitative and quantitative research
  • Transforming client assignment briefs into strong creative briefs for our teams, taking research, information and insights and distilling them down into a singular strategic idea for creative teams to operate from
  • Mining for insights and providing strategic recommendations
  • Providing ongoing strategic oversight and input across our book of clients
  • Developing campaign, content, channel and digital strategies and contributing to tactical development
  • Driving the planning process for new business opportunities and pitching to prospective clients
  • Collaborating effectively across Account, Analytics, and Creative teams
  • Supporting the growth and evolution of strategic planning at SOCIALDEVIANT
  • Staying up to date on industry and cultural news
  • Working with media agencies and internal partners to drive forward paid media and tactical strategies

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5+ years of social strategy experience
  • A passion for creating brand strategies that solve complex brand challenges and drive new forms of creativity
  • A strong ability to link quantitative results with qualitative insights and hypotheses
  • Understanding of both traditional and digital media, with experience collaborating / working alongside media and PR agencies
  • Ability to effectively manage time and resources in an ever-changing and extremely fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to be both a thinker and a doer , linking the two to create breakthrough and flawless media experiences
  • Proven understanding of progressive content concepts and domains across multiple media
  • Excellent presentation, public speaking, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • An eagerness to collaborate with both internal teams and our clients
  • Above all, kindness, composure, and relentless curiosity
