POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Sr. Manager of OST, the Manager will oversee program operations, development, and staff supervision while creating a welcoming environment for all.

The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

Responsibilities : ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement exceptional OST programs that advance the Ys strategic priority to develop resilient and confident changemakers of the future.
  • Innovare youth focused programs to address the diverse needs of youth, including mental health, athletics, engagement, and skill development.
  • Evaluate programs for efficacy, quality, and sustainability.
  • Plan, maintain, and forecast program budgets.
  • Recruit and manage program staff and volunteers to facilitate successful programs.
  • Develop and implement program curriculum for OST (Out of School Time), FDO (Full Day Out), and Camps.
  • Provide support of coaching and mentoring in staff development.
  • Maintain staff files for Colorado Childcare Licensing requirements.
  • Enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies.

Carry out emergency plans, as necessary.

  • Effectively communicates the Ys impact on community to all stakeholders and
  • community leaders.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure the one Y mentality.
  • Maintain a clean and safe YMCA. Take initiative to clean up / repair areas.
  • Attend and remain current on all mandatory training and staff meetings.
  • Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA fundraising initiatives.

  • Regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone / smart device.
  • Frequently required to sit, reach and must be able to move around the work environment
  • Occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and focus
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practice, and curriculum planning for Youth ages 5-18, and an interest in and concern for children and their proper care and wellbeing.
  • Associate degree in human development or education or similar field or experience.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in youth leadership and / or related field.
  • Computer and technology skills.
  • Meet the requirements to obtain a Commercial Driver's License.
  • Experience and knowledge of community collaboration, community programming.
  • Strong organizational and record keeping abilities.
  • Strong customer service, problem solving and communication skills with the ability to relate well to participants, volunteers, families, and community partners.
  • Sincere commitment to the YMCAs mission and to serving youth and the community.
  • Willingness to build relationships and collaborate with others in the community.
  • Knowledge and understanding of running a variety of programs.
  • A set of verbal and written skills necessary to conduct business in a professional manner.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with youth, and internal and external to the organization.
