Hermance Law is seeking a Contract Probate & Trust Administration Attorney to support our growing caseload of trust and probate matters. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity (20–40 hours / week) ideal for an experienced attorney who’s organized, detail-oriented, and committed to guiding families through difficult transitions with clarity and compassion.

You must be a licensed California attorney with experience handling probate and trust administration matters. This position can be performed remotely or in-person at our Ventura office depending on your preference.

Compensation : $40 - $60 hourly

Responsibilities :

• Maintain a large caseload and manage cases from inception through closing
• Assist clients in the administration of trusts, ensuring proper distribution of assets to beneficiaries
• Independently handle day-to-day decision-making on assigned cases
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements when applicable
• Develop a case strategy and provide leadership and direction to Paralegals and Legal Assistants regarding casework
• Regularly consult with clients and third parties to effectively move cases forward and to a successful conclusion
• Perform monthly case reviews to ensure clients receive proactive communication
• Enter client notes and billable time into the Case Management System
• Conduct intense point-related research and analyze case-specific legal issues to prepare documentation
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences to advocate for clients’ interests
• Work collaboratively with the team, including staff members at all levels of experience and knowledge
• Cultivate relationships with the Firm’s clients
• Adhere to the Firm’s policies and procedures
