Our client, a leading industrial-based scrap metal company, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of the companys fleet by performing comprehensive bumper-to-bumper repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing various systems, including low voltage electrical, steering, pneumatic air brakes, hydraulics, transmissions, and drivetrain components.

Additionally, some welding and fabrication work, as well as occasional building and yard maintenance, will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform bumper-to-bumper repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low voltage electrical systems, steering systems, and pneumatic air brake systems.
  • Work on hydraulics, including cylinders, valves, and pumps.
  • Maintain and repair transmissions and drivetrain components.
  • Conduct welding and fabrication as needed.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist with building and yard maintenance as required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficient in operating vehicles up to and including class 8 trucks.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Familiarity with Cummings In-Site, Detroit D-Deck, and CAT E.T. diagnostic tools.
