Job Description :
- Assist with surgical procedures by performing scrubbing duties.
- Prepare for procedures and assist the operative team, including the preparation and maintenance of sterile supplies.
- Create and maintain a sterile field.
- Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening.
- Anticipate the need for equipment and supplies before the case begins.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning prior to use.
- Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical, and air-powered equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Scrub all surgical procedures and understand the special needs, techniques, and requirements of individual surgeons.
- Ability to scrub specialty surgeries without the presence of a sales representative, including sports medicine and trauma.
- Assist RN with completion of operative charge and recording of hardware used during procedures.
- Collect specimens and cultures by verifying the source and correct tissue identification with the surgeon.
