Role and Responsibilities
- Uphold the Mission and Vision of Carroll Institute.
- Obtain / Maintain appropriate certification / training.
- Understand and maintain confidentiality as defined by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
- Responsible for maintaining certification in CPR, AED, Emergency First Aid and NARCAN.
- Be completely familiar with policies, procedures, fire regulations, health and safety regulations, and employee policies.
- Provide orientation to Arch Expectations for new residents.
- Supervise the residents’ self-administration of any medications prescribed by a physician, noting in the residents’ case record the name of the medication, time, and amount taken.
- Responsible for assigned clerical duties (typing, filing, etc.) as directed by supervisor.
- Keep the Arch clean and orderly by supervising and working with the residents as they complete their assigned cleaning, laundry and kitchen duties.
- Post weekly work duties and sign off on the detail list when the resident has satisfactorily completed the assigned duties.
- Complete incident reports, stating the facts of the incident and names of residents or staff involved whenever there is a violation of policies, procedures or house rules.
- Accounting for Arch residents and reporting anyone missing to the appropriate parties.
- Obtaining a breath, saliva or urine specimen as appropriate from any resident
- Maintain a varied schedule of bed checks by walking through all rooms and verifying clients are present.
- Physically search through clients’ rooms and property for contraband.
- Communicating appropriately with local referral sources and community agencies.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Work closely with all staff to establish and maintain a welcoming environment that enhances the strengths of each client.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining good relations with civic, professional, governmental entities, and the community in general by having an active interest in community affairs.
- Other duties as assigned.
